JHCB Seeks New Music Director

The Jackson Hole Community Band, a musical fixture in Jackson Hole concerts, parades, and other public events since 1989, is regretfully saying farewell to its music director and conductor, Jennifer Levanduski. The band credits Levanduski for bringing them to a new level of performance through the challenging and varied repertoire and the leadership. Jennifer’s final concert as conductor is “Night at the Movies” Saturday, April 30th, 7:00 PM at the Center for the Arts Theater.

It has been a privilege to lead this talented group of musicians! They have become family. We have created tremendous musical moments together. Conducting them has been the highlight of my career! ~ Jennifer Levanduski

With Mrs. Levanduski’s departure, the band is seeking a new Music Director, beginning summer, 2016. The JHCB is looking for someone with experience in conducting concert bands – especially community based organizations. The music director, in addition to conducting the group at rehearsals and concerts, chooses concert repertoire, works with the JHCB board to acquire necessary equipment and musical scores, and serves as the inspirational leader of the band. Finally, the band is looking for someone to inspire, excite, and satisfy band members and the public alike, keeping the JHCB tradition of working and performing for enjoyment and musical satisfaction alive and strong.

The Jackson Hole Community Band is a group of committed musicians from teenagers to retirees. Members vary in skill level and background from middle school students to professional musicians. Most are from the Jackson area, but a few come from Idaho and other parts of Wyoming. The band rehearses weekly on Thursday nights, and performs Four full concerts a season, as well as for several community events during the year.
