Band Support Volunteers
Parade Driver
The Parade Trailer Driver is a volunteer responsible for safely transporting the band’s 40-foot flatbed parade trailer, which carries approximately 20 to 40 musicians during parade performances. Using their personal vehicle when required, they move the trailer between storage, loading areas, parade routes, and return storage, and position it for safe and efficient loading and unloading.
This role requires experience, awareness, and confidence handling large trailer movement in public settings, ensuring the safe transport of both performers and equipment throughout the parade route.
Band Sherpas
The Band Sherpas are volunteers who use their personal vehicles to help transport equipment and supplies between the Center for the Arts and event locations. They assist with moving instruments, stands, percussion, and other materials needed for rehearsals, concerts, and special events.
Their support helps ensure reliable, efficient setup and breakdown, making it possible for the band to operate smoothly outside the Center for the Arts.
Photographers
The Volunteer Photographer captures the energy, personality, and behind-the-scenes moments of the band at rehearsals, concerts, and special events. This role is ideal for someone outside the performing ensemble with a strong eye for composition, lighting, and timing, along with their own quality camera equipment.
This can be a flexible commitment—ranging from helping at a single event to supporting the band across multiple performances throughout the season. Each contribution helps build a visual story of the band, from powerful stage moments to candid behind-the-scenes scenes that highlight the full experience.
