Join the Jackson Hole Community Band for an Unforgettable Concert.
As the days grow longer and the gentle breezes of spring begin to whisper through the majestic landscapes of Jackson, Wyoming, the Jackson Hole Community Band is thrilled to extend a warm invitation to our cherished community and visiting guests. Mark your calendars for an afternoon of enchanting melodies and spirited compositions as we present our Spring Concert. This musical extravaganza is set to take place on Sunday, April 28, at 4 pm at the prestigious Center for the Arts Theater, located at 265 S Cache St, Jackson.
Our upcoming concert promises an eclectic mix of pieces that are sure to captivate and entertain. From the industrial rhythms of John Mackey‘s Foundry to the serene and reflective tones of Fantasy on a Japanese Folk Song by Samuel R. Hazo, our program is designed to showcase the versatility and talent of our musicians. Audiences will be thrilled by the explosive energy of Frank Ticheli‘s Nitro, and our tribute to the late Peter Schickele will bring smiles with the whimsical Six Contrary Dances by P.D.Q. Bach.
The concert will also feature a suite from the groundbreaking musical Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda, arranged by Jerry Brubaker, offering a vibrant homage to the revolutionary spirit. Robert Sheldon‘s Chanteys will weave a nautical tale through melody, while Hope Springs Eternal by Robert Buckley promises to be an uplifting ode to the resilience of the human spirit. And for a touch of theatrical flair, Eric Whitacre’s Godzilla Eats Las Vegas will end the concert on a note of high-spirited fun and imagination.
We invite everyone in the community and visitors to Jackson to join us for this special afternoon. Whether you’re a lifelong lover of concert band music or looking for a delightful new experience, there’s something in our Spring Concert for you.
