2010 – Collaborative Holiday Concert, with the bass trombone holding down the low end in the brass row.

The bass trombone is a deeper-voiced cousin of the tenor trombone, built for power in the low end of the brass section. It features a larger bore, wider bell, and extra valves to access additional lower notes. Its sound is bold, dark, and resonant—perfect for adding depth to chords or punching through big, dramatic passages. It’s a staple in concert bands, orchestras, and jazz ensembles that demand a solid bass brass line.

With its rich low tone and thunderous presence, the bass trombone anchors the brass section like a pro—it’s always there when the music calls for drama, depth, or just plain oomph.
