Ensemble

Home / Glossary / Ensembles / Ensemble

An ensemble is a group of musicians who perform together, blending individual talents into a unified sound. This can include groups of varying sizes and types, from small chamber ensembles to large concert bands. The key to an ensemble is cooperation and coordination among its members to create a harmonious performance.

As a community concert band, we are an ensemble in every sense—musicians of all ages and backgrounds coming together to create one cohesive sound. Through weekly rehearsals and performances, we blend individual skills into music that’s greater than the sum of its parts, sharing the joy of live performance with our audiences year-round.

The Jackson Hole Community Band is a volunteer wind ensemble founded in 1989, performing throughout the year at concerts, parades, and community events. Our ranks include musicians of all ages and backgrounds, many of whom returned to their instruments after long breaks. This post is a collaboration among band members who bring their unique voices, stories, and perspectives to celebrate our shared love of music and community.
