Euphonium

  • Family: Belongs to the tuba family due to its wide, conical bore, which is a distinguishing feature of the tuba. 
     
  • Characteristics: Has a wider bore that results in a warm, full sound. 
     
  • Usage: A standard member of the band, not typically found in an orchestra. 
     
Baritone
  • Family: A member of the saxhorn family, not the tuba family. 
     
  • Characteristics: Features a cylindrical tubing with a narrower bore and a narrower bell compared to the euphonium. 
     
  • Usage: Popular in British brass bands and also used in marching and concert bands.
