2014 – Wyoming Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies

Wyoming Special Olympics is the state chapter of Special Olympics, a global movement dedicated to providing sports training and competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Each year, the Winter Games are held in Jackson Hole, featuring alpine skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and other cold-weather events. These games celebrate athletic skill, sportsmanship, and inclusion while showcasing the resilience and spirit of the athletes.

The Community Band adds a festive soundtrack to the Winter Games’ opening ceremonies, filling the crisp Jackson Hole air with music that sets the tone for a week of competition and camaraderie.

Our ranks include musicians of all ages and backgrounds, many of whom returned to their instruments after long breaks. This post is a collaboration among band members who bring their unique voices, stories, and perspectives to celebrate our shared love of music and community.
