Member Bio

Damon M WilsonMember Since: 2005

Section: BandAuxiliary
Instruments: Parade Driver
Profession: Plumbing Superintendent

Damon was drafted into band life in 2004 by his wife, Julie, and has been in the driver’s seat—literally—ever since. As the Jackson Hole Community Band’s trusted parade driver, he’s piloted the trailer through every Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebration since, not to mention the occasional street concert and special event.

Known for his calm precision, Damon has navigated tight corners, tricky turnarounds, and enthusiastic crowds without ever launching a Tuba (or flutist) into the pavement—a record we’re all thankful for. After years driving the band under the Mechco banner, he now pulls the trailer with his own pickup, delivering the music safely to its next destination.

When he's not hauling brass and Woodwinds, Damon enjoys fishing, hunting, and camping—and spent many years helping organize the ElkFest antler auction with scouts and antlers in tow. He may not play an instrument, but his support helps keep the show on the road (and the Flutes from rusting).
