The Jackson Hole Community Band is led by a dedicated Board of Directors made up of active members of the band. These volunteers help guide the organization, support its mission, and ensure the music keeps playing year after year.
The board meets monthly, and officers are chosen by fellow band members each fall during a rehearsal. Since all board members are also musicians in the band, decisions are made with the entire Ensemble in mind—from the podium to the back row of the Percussion section.
Officers
Current elected officers of the band, chosen by the membership during our annual fall election.
President

The President serves as the face of the Jackson Hole Community Band, representing the group both within the organization and out in the community. As the head of the board, the President helps keep everything running smoothly—from leading meetings and planning events to coordinating with partners, venues, and volunteers.
While the specific duties may evolve over time, the role always centers on leadership, communication, and keeping the band in tune—onstage and off.
Vice president

The Vice President oversees communications for the Jackson Hole Community Band—keeping both the public and band members informed, engaged, and in the loop. From flyers and social media posts to community calendars and member updates, the VP manages the flow of information that helps the band stay visible and connected.
This role often works behind the scenes, coordinating publicity, supporting new members, and stepping in wherever needed—including filling in for other officers when they’re unavailable.
Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees the band’s finances, making sure income and expenses are carefully tracked and managed. From collecting donations and member dues to paying bills and preparing financial reports, this role helps keep the band’s budget on track and supports the board with clear updates.
Their work behind the scenes ensures the band has the resources it needs to keep making music and serving the community.
Business Manager
The Business Manager keeps the band’s day-to-day operations running smoothly behind the scenes. From coordinating event logistics and managing applications to maintaining the band’s Non-Profit status, this role is essential for keeping everything organized and on schedule.
They also oversee communications with partners, support fundraising and scholarship efforts, and help coordinate key activities throughout the year—making sure the band’s business side is as harmonious as its music.
Secretary
The Secretary helps keep the Jackson Hole Community Band organized and on track by preparing meeting agendas and recording minutes for the board. They ensure everyone stays informed and that important decisions are documented and shared.
In addition to supporting board communications, the Secretary often takes the lead on applying for grants and funding opportunities that help the band grow and thrive.
Non Elected Supporting Officers
Appointed by the elected board, these supporting roles help keep the band running smoothly behind the scenes.

From organizing music folders to coordinating new music orders, this role keeps the library in top shape so musicians can focus on playing their best.
They also take the lead on preparing the printed concert programs, working closely with the Vice President and other team members to create materials that enhance each performance.
Equipment Manager

They also manage lending of instruments and equipment to ensure the band’s resources are used wisely and returned safely—helping the band stay prepared and sound great.
Other Positions
Section Leaders
Section leaders are your go-to contacts within each section. They help keep things running smoothly—relaying info, checking in with members, and keeping the section organized. While they’re not always the first chair or the one picking music, they’re key to making the band work as a team.
Investment Advisor
The Investment Advisor helps manage the band’s investment accounts to ensure financial stability and support for future growth. Working closely with the Treasurer, this role monitors investments, provides annual updates, and helps guide responsible financial decisions.
Website Administrator
The Website Administrator manages the Jackson Hole Community Band’s website, ensuring it stays up to date, user-friendly, and secure. They help keep information current, coordinate event postings with the Vice President, and support members and board members with website-related questions.
By maintaining calendars, managing member access, and monitoring site performance, they help the band stay connected with the community online.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
The Jackson Hole Community Band wouldn’t be the same without the support of our dedicated volunteers. From moving equipment to organizing refreshments, there’s a role for everyone who wants to help keep our band running smoothly.
Event Photographer
One area where we especially need a helping hand is event photography. Since musicians can’t capture the magic while performing, we rely on fans, family members, and friends to snap photos and record memories that help us share our story with the community.
Did you get a good photo? Tag us on social media @JHCBand or email office@jhcband.org to share your shots with us. Whether you’re up for snapping a single photo or capturing moments throughout the season, we’d welcome you as a behind-the-scenes contributor.
