Getting Started

Navigating the JHCBand.org Website

The JHCBand.org website is divided into two main sections, each with a different look and purpose:

Main Website (dark blue/black theme): This is where you are now — the bulletin board lives here. Most of this section is public, so visitors can read general information, concert announcements, and more about our band. The Member Portal menu item provides links to all the important member-only areas.

Music Library / inScoreOrder (brown theme): This section is primarily for members only. Here you’ll find virtual folders, event logistics, the Music Library database, and tools like RSVP and rating music.

Most content is visible to everyone, but sensitive information — like member emails, phone numbers, rehearsal music, and other private details — is behind the log in.

On mobile devices, menus collapse into the three-bar icon (☰). Tap it to see all menu items.

Use the Member Portal menu item in the main site to access the areas you need quickly. It includes all basic links members use to navigate both the main site and the inScoreOrder section.

Think of it like two connected neighborhoods: the Main Website area is the town square, and inScoreOrder is the members-only clubhouse. Once you’re logged in, the whole site opens up!

Why Logging In Matters

Just like showing up to rehearsal with your instrument ready, logging in opens the door to everything that keeps our band in tune:

Bulletin Board Access: View all member-only boards, post topics, and reply — from housing help to attendance issues.

Music Library Tools: Access your virtual folders, RSVP for events, rate music we’ve played, and more.

Band Communications: Get the latest updates, rehearsal notes, and announcements.

Profile & Section Info: Keep your contact and instrument details up to date so directors and section leaders can reach you.

In short — logging in keeps you connected, organized, and part of the rhythm.

Where’s Waldo? (… the Log In Link)

If you’re wondering where the Log In link is hiding — here’s the score!

It’s at the bottom of every page on our site.

It’s also listed under the Member Portal menu on all main website pages.

Within inScoreOrder, you’ll also find it in:

• The Welcome section of the landing page

• The Welcome section of every virtual folder

• The title section of each event detail page

On mobile devices, menus collapse into the three-bar icon (☰) — tap that to find the Log In link.

No detective skills needed — it’s always nearby! Once you log in, you’ll see options and content meant just for active band members.

How to Become an Active Member

You cannot register yourself as an active member — membership must be confirmed by an Administrator.

New members: At the bottom of this page you’ll find both the membership form to download and the online form to submit it. After attending at least one rehearsal, an Administrator will confirm your membership and set up your login access. Learn more about becoming a JHCB member on the Become a Member page.

Inactive members who want to regain full access should speak with an Administrator at rehearsal to be reactivated.

Once your membership is confirmed, you’ll have access to the Members Area, including your Virtual Rehearsal Folder, which mirrors the music in your paper folder and is only available to active, logged-in members.
